My Beef With CNN Newscasters

¶ Published Wednesday, March 5th at 7:22 am ∞ In T.V.3 Comments »

I don’t mind the election season. As a matter of fact I find it the most intriguing thing on TV at the moment. CNN calls it ‘Ballot Bowl’, and given it is the basket ball season, it really is fun. The news, that is.
But the most curious thing of the past week was the hubris […]

… and so is Tony Almeida. Yes, really. The same Tony Almeida who was apparently killed off in season 5.

I know, it might sound a little weird. But then, I guess it is perhaps the best move made by the writers, yet — after the dud that was […]

Aishwarya Rai on Heroes?

Well I don’t know how to react to this. The thought of her featuring in a show that I love does not sound totally bad to me, but she will play Shanti Suresh (Mohinder’s sister) who apparently was dead according to the first season. No doubt, the writers will concoct something out of the blue […]

Colbert vs Rain

This one cracked me up a bit.
A few weeks back Stephen Colbert made his own Korean R&B music video after being stung by the fact that Korean R&B singer Rain pipped him to the number one spot in Time magazine’s online poll of the most influential people of 2007.
The first clip showed his music video.

Yes I admit I have been guilty of baiting search engines for the title, but trust me, there has been reasonable amount of research going into this post. So keep reading.
The best part of internet these days is the sheer wealth of streaming media that is available in video form. The popularity of sites like […]

Dexter: A Review

¶ Published Sunday, May 27th at 7:02 pm ∞ In Entertainment, T.V.2 Comments »

I was planning on writing about TV shows that stood out for me this year. I also thought of writing a season review of Heroes, but I felt I could hold back on it till the finale of the show in India, which I believe is end of June, so that it would be right […]

Jimmy Wales on Colbert

Jimmy Wales that guy who founded a certain Wikipedia comes on the Colbert Report and makes for interesting conversation. He talks about vandalism (more specifically the issue of Colbert and the Elephant article) among other things.
I apologize for link posts like this, hopefully regular service will resume soon.

Just yesterday when I saw this article on Cricinfo, it got me really interested in the whole thing about Subhash Chandra’s plans of emulating Kerry Packer.
Brian Lara, Shane Warne, Glenn McGrath and “more big names to follow” are being linked to a breakaway Twenty20 competition taking place in India this October, according to the latest […]

TIOTI - TiVo for the Web? (A Review)

Yesterday I got an invite from the guys at TIOTI to beta test their system. I duly went about the drill and here are my brief thoughts.
TIOTI stands for Tape It Off the Internet. It is a site that’s targeted at TV shows and provides Bit-torrent links to download shows off the net. I’m […]

April Madness and DesiDabba

So, the semester is finally inching towards a close and the usual desperate, ’scrambling for getting things done’ process has been well and truly begun. Tons of exciting things like exams, assignments, project proposals, project presentations, report submissions and the like dot my calendar. So probably my posting frequency (which by the way has seen […]
